You could be owed a refund if:

  • You drive your own vehicle or use public transport to get from your home to a temporary posting (somewhere you have been posted for 24 months or less).

​

  • Even if your post exceeds 24 months unexpectedly, you may still claim for the first 24 months.

​

  • To claim a tax refund, you must have paid tax in the year and we can trace back claims up to 4 tax years.

​

  • Mileage occurred whilst training (depending on the type of training).

​

  • Even if you receive GYH of HTD, you may still be able to claim.

​

  • If you purchased mess dress within the last 4 years and have the receipt.

The Process

To get started we would need:

​​

  • A signed authorisation form (64-8) which allows us to liaise with HMRC on your behalf.

​ 

  • A Unique Tax Reference (UTR), which is provided when you register for Self Assessment.

  • Copies of your P60s for the years you are claiming (Up to 4 years).

 

  • Complete our online form to detail your claimable expenses.

Then leave the rest to us, HB Group will liaise directly with HMRC on your behalf to complete your tax refund as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We will keep you updated throughout the whole process, which on average takes between 4-8 weeks.
